COS have changed up their lookbook style for SS17 taking their latest menswear offering to the streets of New York. For their ‘composition’ feature the lookbook has focused on key SS17 looks on models that explore studio spaces across Manhattan. A very clever take here as for me the focus on minimalism that COS has become infamous for often gets compared to modern art movements and futuristic architecture, some of the outfits perfectly suit their new gallery setting. The initial image here is my favourite look from the collection, the caramel two piece is beautifully fitted and works really well casually as in the image or as part of a formal look – the double breasted element gives it that extra edge against a standard suit. As COS develop their menswear they are finally moving away from their monochrome and embracing colour, slowly but surely we are seeing bold seasonal palettes. SS17 sees the focus shift onto khaki and powder blue, for me the all khaki look is a strong point of the collection and offers an interesting one colour look for spring. Something I’ve always loved about COS is their love of twinsets, mirroring the lines and detailing of a top in a coordinating bottom – allowing for simple yet striking outfit suggestions. This collection is a bold step forward yet still keeps that quintessentially COS feel, no fans will be lost here but I am sure they will tap into a new generation of fans.
