Today I was lucky enough to be invited by Maverick PR to the F&F AW15 press launch at the iconic Savoy Hotel. Having been blogging for a little over three years now I’ve been to a fair amount of press events, however this was just on another level. I felt like Julia Roberts in pretty woman as I took a seat in the incredible ballroom, the table was laid out like a wedding and I felt like royalty. Paloma Faith performed two songs which was an amazing surprise, someone who I have always wanted to see live and she was absolutely flawless. I’ve been really impressed with the transition that F&F have undertaken to shake off the supermarket clothing stigma and move towards a respected fashion brand within their own right. The AW15 collection is beautiful, both the menswear and ladieswear rivals some of the most well established high street brands. The collection is a huge return to retro combining key looks and trends from the late 60’s and early 70’s with refreshingly modern cuts and silhouettes, streamlined retro. I loved the huge emphasis on texture both in mens and ladies, heavy knitwear combined with suede and leather nails the effortlessly stylish autumn aesthetic. The menswear was so masculine and sophisticated, it felt so quintessentially British – a modern take on classic wardrobe staples. An amazing collection that felt perfectly suited to the beautiful Savoy Ballroom, I can’t wait to start seeing it hit stores!
