Move over Beckham, there’s a new kid on the block! Swedish fashion giant have lined up The Weeknd to face their spring essentials campaign for SS17, building on the success of their established modern essentials collections fronted by David Beckham. From chart topping songs to a new romance with Selena Gomez there is no one with more exposure right now than The Weeknd, once again showing how good H&M are at spotting an opportunity for publicity gold. They’ve managed to pick a face that speaks to a younger demographic than Beckham, is really current but also sits well with the brands long standing commitment to merging the worlds of music and fashion.
The collection features a range of key pieces to make a manageable yet versatile capsule wardrobe, the pieces are refreshingly clean for spring with a cute XO detailing running through as a theme. With bombers not going anywhere they make up the outerwear focus, followed by lots of neutral layering and simple, fitted trousers. Definitely an accessible collection for the everyday man, and with H&M’s pricing and quality it’s really worth checking out! I’ve picked some of my favourite pieces at the bottom of the post.
