Following on from a strong 2014 and a fresh re-branding Mango’s menswear division are going from strength to strength recently, this has been heightened by the release of their amazing S/S15 menswear lookbook. The last few menswear lookbooks from Mango have been game changers for the brand, most notably their November departure from conservative styling to high fashion street style that raised many eyebrows. Ditching the ‘HE by Mango’ name in favour of a simplistic ‘Mango Man’ the brand has managed to realign itself in the centre of a playing field it started to be sidelined on, regaining ground from more established European brands has enabled it to start opening stand alone menswear stores across Europe
S/S15 for Mango Man is a relaxed and comfortable affair, utilitarian pieces that maximise practicality while retaining impressive styling are the backbone of the collection. The coastal background highlights the underlying nautical theme that can be found throughout the collection in key navy and white pieces, with some prints to liven things up a bit. Sticking to their ‘preppy’ heritage Mango Man have managed to offer a collection that stays true to the brands identity yet still managing to refresh itself, opening it up to a wider audience will help to drive it’s recent success.
