With November just around the corner, it’s almost time for one of the biggest annual fashion events, the H&M designer collaboration. This year marks one of the most daring collaborations yet, from revolutionary designer Jeremy Scott the creative visionary currently behind Moschino. This collection promises to be the most popular to date due to the accessible designs and a wide range of products, with everything from outerwear to underwear being offered this year for menswear. Jeremy has created an iconic status for Moschino in recent years with his playful and eye-catching designs taking the fashion world by storm, collecting some impressive celebrity fans along the way – Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry and Gwen Stefani to name a few.
The Moschino TV H&M collection plays on the MTV generation with a big focus on animated characters, oversized imagery and sports influences. As far as collaborations go I think this is the most fun they’ve had since Kenzo, most designer fashion houses have such strong trend foundations it’s hard to make it appeal to a market outside existing fans. The Disney characterisation used is sure to be a huge success looking at previous offerings by Coach, Louis Vuitton and H&M. The collection has so many pieces there is something for every guy, wether you want to be bold and get a holographic CD print tracksuit or take it easy in some branded underwear – definitely a key to the success of this collection. Looking at pricing it is also one of the most affordable to date, with entry-level pieces from £29.99 – again another key element to its inevitable success.
“The MOSCHINO [tv] H&M collection is a gift to my fans and I wanted to give them the most MOSCHINO collection ever. I tried to include all the ingredients you would expect from one of my shows – cartoon couture mixed with a street wear vibe doused with hip hop worthy amounts of bling bling to create a totally MOSCHINO look,”
Jeremy Scott, Creative Director MOSCHINO
The collection launches online and in selected stores November 8th.
