Recently I’ve developed a but of a reputation as someone who only ever wears black, something I think we are all pretty guilty of especially when it comes to the colder months. So to try and shake off this reputation I’ve tried to branch out a bit and brighten up my wardrobe, and what better way to document it than by throwing an outfit post together! To add some colour to my wardrobe I really had to kiss goodbye to my comfort zone so it is going to be a gradual change, I’m aiming to be over my addiction to black by summer. For this outfit I went or my usual winter combo of a big black coat and black skinny jeans, an absolute foolproof base for a winter outfit. For me I pick this combination because it makes me think I look taller, being 5’6 added height is a necessity for me.
Recently I have developed a huge love for textures leather has always been a big favourite of mine, however the new love of my life is neoprene and I really can’t get enough of it. I couldn’t help myself when I saw the oversized neoprene sweater on asos, I’ve added it to this black outfit because the detailing across the chest and arms adds some detailing. Hidden away under all that black is another new texture I love in the form of the knitted cross-detail t-shirt, it’s nice and fitted and with the white shirt rolled underneath it’s a perfect smart casual look. To finish off the outfit there’s another of my new addictions – a blanket scarf. I saw them everywhere when I was in New York before Christmas and fell in love, they are so versatile and can completely make an outfit – this tartan number goes everywhere with me!
