Spring is starting to make an appearance and we’ve endured the last of the winter weather, so it’s definitely time to start getting excited about Summer! This week I popped along to the River Island high summer press day to take a look at the upcoming collection featured in this lookbook, safe to say I was very impressed. For a menswear collection I was really surprised by the breadth of the trends that were represented, no matter what your individual style is there is something for everyone. I was automatically drawn to the darker pieces which combined with khaki created a modern traveler look, combined with mesh and other textures it was a really interesting look for summer.
For a more traditional summer wardrobe there are plenty of wardrobe staples, from monochrome nautical pieces to bold, bright summer prints perfect for holidays and festivals alike. The use of texture carries through into the summer tailoring with some really interesting pieces from high shine blazers to woven suit trousers, carrying on the sports lux suiting trend that emerged towards the end of last year. The whole collection is a successful blend of smart and casual that feels really cohesive yet offers up so many outfit variations, perfect for building a capsule wardrobe for the months ahead.
