It’s been a bit of a busy few weeks for lookbooks with menswear brands up and down the highstreet trying to get their last collection previews out in time for the key selling season, which is why the latest ‘pictures’ lookbook from Zara went a little bit under the radar. Every season Zara put together a real life lookbook pulling together key looks from their A/W14 lookbook that everyday customers have put together, it’s a great way of seeing how wearable the collection is and is a really great way to get style inspiration for your own outfits. It’s something more brands should do as it gives customers a more realistic interpretation of the collection, I know for a fact how much inspiration I take for my style from people on the street compared to the photo-shopped models in lookbooks. Putting the outfits in a real life setting helps to make it seem more attainable and aspirational as opposed to a very static, staged photoshoot that is the case for the vast majority of lookbooks. This ‘pictures’ campaign helps to highlight how diverse the Zara customer base is and how many outfit combinations can be taken when opened up to personal style, for me a key sign of how versatile the collection is. For me it’s all about letting these images speak for themselves, so take a look and see what you think of outfits below!
